About PlugSolarMath

PlugSolarMath is a small, independent website of free calculators and plain-English guides for people considering plug-in (balcony) solar in the United States.

Plug-in solar is new in the US and the rules change quickly. Our goal is to give you honest numbers — what a kit will really save in your state, where it's allowed, and what to check before you buy — without sales pressure.

How this site is made

We use AI tools to help write code and draft explanations. Every formula is checked with automated tests, and every number, law and safety statement is checked by a person against the sources we cite — the U.S. Energy Information Administration, NREL solar data, state legislation reporting and UL Solutions. Pages show the date they were last updated, and we revise them when laws change.

Independence

We don't sell solar kits. If we ever add links to products, we'll say so clearly on the page. Advertising helps keep the tools free.
